You just triggered it. I realized that we hadn’t pulled any stunt to actually publicize the freezes outside of the meeting notes, and figured “go, planet, go”.

Beltzner took over .planning and mda.firefox now, too, so that should get us covered.

Please note that while this is really nice addition, Bespin is currently bad for localizations as it is missing the ability to input international characters and is lacking basic bidi support.

I stumbled across this site actually looking up some stuff in San Francisco. Yes, the SF Ducks are kinda cool, especially for the kids or even adults. The Bay Crackers used to be good as well, but I have not been there for years though.

We should be somewhere between thoughtful and paranoid on whom we’re asking to be invited. OTT is by invitation and has a maximum limit.

For this time, I asked pascalc, djst and sheppy, as the conference was rather content-focused. None of them had time, though.

Gandalf pondered going, and given that we had a few other Firefox localizers in the group, I’m not too concerned that he didn’t make it.

Anyway, OTT is by invitation, so the final call is on the organizers. But we should make that an easy decision for them, if we can.

Great writeup. I wish I could have attended the Asia/SE Asia sessions. We should send more than from Drivers to the next OTT, no?

For Nepali localizers, I’ll contact a friend of mine who runs an NPO in Nepal (unrelated to technology but she may have ideas or connections.)
