It’s the start of a new week and the start of my first shift as RelEng sheriff. Do you suspect rando-orange? Talk to me. Do you suspect machine problems? Talk to me. I’ll be watching dev.tree-management, the releng triage queue, and #developers for issues.

During this time we will be deploying all of the changes listed on this page as well as two Talos bugs: bug 379233 and bug 458093

This will affect the following trees: Firefox (mozilla-central), Firefox3.1 (mozilla-1.9.1), Tracemonkey (tracemonkey), and Mobile (mobile-browser).

As a heads up please note that the Talos changes could affect numbers and will change the layout of the results on the Tinderbox Waterfall.

During this time we will be deploying all of the changes listed on this page. Most notably, clobber support for all Mercurial based builds will be landed tomorrow. More on that soon from Chris AtLee soon.

One of these requires a full Buildbot master restart – so expect some spurious burning. We’ll do our best to minimize it and get things green ASAP.

Hi All,

Due to a few reasons we were unable to migrate our Buildbot master to
faster disks yesterday. Instead, we will be doing it tomorrow morning
PST. We will be closing all trees at 5am tomorrow to shut down and
migrate this machine. We expect it to take a couple of hours to complete.

This affects the following trees:
* Firefox
* Firefox3.0
* Firefox3.1

During this time we will be upgrading both the Firefox 3 and Firefox 3.1 Unit test Buildbots to a newer version (0.7.9). In order to avoid interrupting running builds we will be closing the tree at 4am PDT and stopping any new builds from being scheduled. Once all builds have finished we will perform the upgrade and open the tree again. Depending on the timing this could take anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours. The tree should be open again no later than 7am PDT.

During this time we will be moving around tinderboxes (as discussed in the “Moving Tinderboxes” thread). After this maintenance is done, the following changes will have been made:

* All Firefox 3.0.x/Gecko 1.9.0.x/CVS trunk tinderboxes will report to the soon-to-be-created “Firefox3.0″ tree. (http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/Firefox3.0/)

* All Firefox 3.1/Gecko 1.9.1/mozilla-central tinderboxes will report to the “Firefox” tree.
(http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/Firefox/)

* The ‘Mozilla2′ tree will be deleted.

Sometime today (May 12, 2008) the Mozilla2 Buildbot will be down to enable debug+leaktest slaves.. For the curious, details of the work are in bug 422296.
