It’s time to wrap up the first survey.

In our series of preceding posts, we excluded from the main analysis the countries that did not have enough responses for accurate statistical analysis.  But out of curiosity, we decided to present a short appendix to the main report just to see how other countries responded to our questions.  Each of the countries had between 5 and 20 responses, so it is more like reading the answers from a focus group rather than an analysis of volumes of data.  We used a more qualitative approach than we did in the report, but it’s still very interesting.

The list of regions we will focus on in the appendix include the following countries:

  • Argentina
  • Austria
  • Catalonia
  • Switzerland (German and French parts)
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Great Britain
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Romania
  • United States

It is attached as appendix.pdf.

It’s really great, that you’ve made this public and in a viewable manner – thanks!

It would be nice if Mozilla offered hosting. Either VPS on Mozillas network or hosting (Gigahost?) payed by Mozilla.

We would love a template for the website, forum and wiki.
If it could be made, so it’s not for Mozilla-only products, but more liberal. Allowing all “Powered by Mozilla” products, like Songbird, Spicebird etc.

Thanks for the comment, hansen. We will take a look at the template for sure. In fact, I already met with David Boswell to discuss creating a template.

Regarding the hosting, that’s always a tricky issue because Mozilla can’t host sites for local communities due to liability issues. But, we have started paying for hosting for a lot of communities and it’s something we’d like to do on a larger scale. As always, it’s a big issue with scalability and leverage.
