This is by far the best, an actual improvement over the current logo. Everything else through iteration 5 sucks.

This is too unbalanced, in my opinion (mostly in terms of color temperature which is too “hot” on Firefox itself and too “cold” on the globe).

In any case, the high-res icons aren’t the most important ones. The rendering of 16×16 and 32×32 icons is the new cool design everybody will notice. In terms of professional icon design, it is strange that each of the bigger images is not accopmanied with smaller variants. It is well known that many people can design a 128×128 icons, but fewer can successfully scale it back to 16×16.

Hi,

looks quite nice. The problem I have with the current (FF <= 3.0) icon is that it it is to detailed too look nice in, say, the quick launch area. An overall reduction of detail and making it “sharper” would surely be a great improvement. I think you are going into the right direction with this. Maybe if you can manage to make the fox a bit slimmer – that would surely improve it’s appeal when scaled to, say, 16×16 pixels.

It just feels less distinct overall.

First, the globe is really shiny. That white continent isn’t helping. http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Theme_Guidelines#Frequent_Mistakes

Second, the icon has lost a lot of contrast. I still really like the colors from the 2004/Firefox 0.8 icon.

I really think this is the best one yet. Perhaps the changes in this one compared to the current logo are too subtle, which could make the “visual indication of progress” less efficient.

But aesthetically, I think this one takes the prize by a long shot!

I think there’s something with the balance in the logo, between the fox and the globe. Could the fox be transparent to some degree?

Fox is looking good, but the globe is now blurred and waaaayy to reflective.
