I have not seen any attempt to update since I installed Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird since I installed about two weeks ago. How do I know it is up to date?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this actually came with FF 1.5, but I love the way in which the background downloading works in FF2: It downloads the update in the background and then asks you if it should update.

You can safely click "Later" and forget about it and only after the next restart, Firefox will be updated.

This is SO much better than a popup telling you that a new version is out *before* starting the download and then forcing the user to wait through the update, in the mean time forgetting about all the tasks one wanted to do.

Whoever came up with this: This is - IMHO - the greatest invention since sliced bread and I'm sure it helps a lot at keeping the transition day small.

'love it!
